We warmly welcomed our District Governor, Luis Gómez-Ojero Martínez, who was accompanied by his provincial representative, Omar Bahaya, on his traditional official visit with the aim of exchanging experiences and coordinating actions among the hundred or so clubs in District 2201 of Spain. All of this was discussed at the meeting with the board and other club members chaired by our president, Carmen Nieves Rodríguez Fraga. Afterwards the governor was treated to a dinner at the organisation's headquarters, the Villa Cortés hotel, attended by nearly fifty people including many dignitaries and club members and supporters. The evening included a number of very moving moments, such as the gift the Club wished to present to the governor to mark the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, when the writer and historian Nelson Díaz Frías presented a copy of his book «ROSALÍA GOMEZ, LA ULTIMA ESCLAVA DE TENERIFE». There was also the moment when the Rotary pin was presented to Axel Gasman as a new club member, and he said a few words of thanks and recognition for Rotary's work. To close the event, the governor and all attendees were treated to a musical performance, with Alba and José Alberto, both teachers at the Adeje School of Music, delighting us with a masterful guitar and timple performance.
