Rotary Club Tenerife Sur

At the Service of the Community

WE ARE ROTARIANS

Founded in 1983 by a group of committed citizens, Rotary Club Tenerife Sur currently has 45 members from different countries, representing all professions in the region.

Our main activities as Rotarians range from direct support to other institutions, solidarity projects and people in need, to organising events and talks of general interest.

In recent years, our main solidarity project has been «ONE CHILD, ONE MEAL, ONE BOOK», through which we have been able to help with food and school materials for hundreds of children in difficult economic situations.

The Club has its headquarters at the Hotel Villa Cortés in Playa de Las Américas and meets every Monday at 8:30 p.m.

It belongs to District 2201 of Rotary International, which encompasses approximately one third of Spanish clubs.

As the name of the club indicates, leadership rotates, with the President and Board changing in June each year.

The current President is Marcos Afonso, who has replaced Raquel Arroyo. The next President, already elected, will be Cristina Gentile.

Rotary International is a global network of 1,400,000 neighbours, friends, leaders and people working together to solve problems, creating positive and lasting change in communities at home and abroad.

To tackle the most pressing problems, dedication and vision are essential. For over 110 years, Rotary members have addressed the most serious issues with passion, energy and expertise. Whether literacy projects, promoting peace, access to water and healthcare, we strive to improve the world, persevering until we fulfil our mission.

Our motto: Service Above Self.

Values that guide our steps: service, fellowship, diversity, integrity and leadership.
