There are few things that comfort the soul more than, when receiving a call for help, being able to help immediately. In this regard, in recent weeks we have received an unusual number of calls at our Solidarity Food Bank from both families and public institutions asking us to help people who literally had nothing to eat. Of course we have responded to all of them quickly. There is nothing more terrible than the unwanted loneliness of elderly, sick people with no financial resources who feel forgotten by society. Humanity, Empathy and Solidarity are fundamental feelings in the foundations of any advanced society, and at Rotary we know this well.
