Surveying, layout and subsequent fencing work has begun on the ROTARY TENERIFE SUR SENSORY FARM. The project has been designed and is being led by our fellow Rotarian and architect Juan Diego Mayordomo together with his team at PLACA ARQUITECTOS. The Sensory Farm is an outdoor space in the Las Zocas neighbourhood in the municipality of San Miguel de Abona, donated by the family of Don Carlos Gonzalez Toledo, to be used for social purposes, adapted and designed for children with ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder), aged 3 to 12, as well as a place for activities and workshops for young people and adults with this condition, aimed at fostering personal autonomy and developing all their skills. Families also play a key role in our space, as we will use it to connect with other families in the same situation, run courses and talks on autism and provide information on all the bureaucratic procedures that must be completed when an ASD diagnosis is received, thus creating a unique support network in the municipality. A project created by Eduardo Reyes and Carolina Hernández, parents of Sandro, a child with autism, to help people with autism and their families. The land has been donated by the González family. San Miguel de Abona Council is collaborating and Rotary Club Tenerife Sur will carry it out. We still have a long way to go, but today we are much closer!!!!
