Yesterday we held the Presidential Collar Handover ceremony in which, as is Rotary tradition, the presidency rotates each year and therefore Cristina Gentile, the outgoing president, handed over the presidential collar to Carmen Nieves Rodríguez Fraga, who will take the helm of the club from 1 July for the next twelve months. In their speeches, both showed their commitment and passion for the work carried out by our organisation, becoming emotional on several occasions, which made their respective speeches touch our hearts even more. In a harsh and sometimes very aggressive world, empathy and sensitivity are in short supply, but in our club they flow in abundance and they were an example of that yesterday. Also as usual, the same event saw the Presidential Collar Handover of our Rotaract Tenerife Sur, where Iría, the outgoing president, handed over the presidential collar to Katerina so that she may likewise preside over the club for the next twelve months. Each of them thanked the many fellow members, friends and dignitaries who wanted to support us at this event. The club also thanked the Golf Costa Adeje team for their excellent service in a magical setting.
